Be Here Now SAYA Blog

Life is full of temptations. Business is no different.

Our desires to be more, do more, contribute more drive us towards the emergence of the best versions of ourselves while also trapping us in feelings of “not enough”.

I know it is a double edged sword for myself and for many of my clients.

This pattern manifests itself in creating expectations for ourselves that are a bit too far out of reach.

It is okay to do this as you “dream big” and visualize what is truly possible for you. You want to set goals, hold a vision for where you want to go, and push yourself out of your comfort zone. But you also want to consider where you are on your journey now and how to best position yourself for sustained success over time.

More often than not, when my clients project contribution or “success” that ends up falling out of their reach, they beat themselves up over not achieving their goals. They complain about falling “off track” temporarily and they regret their decisions.

But, the reality of life is that we all have our own pace and our own path. Every step of your journey is here to teach you something and to help you grow in some way. Even the parts of your journey you’ve labeled “bad” or a “failure.” These parts play an integral role in developing your character, adding color to your experiences, and evolving how you show up in the world.

Keep your head in the clouds and your feet in the dirt.

It is totally fine to dream big, set big goals, visualize huge success for yourself. These are healthy and real desires.

AND stay grounded in the “now”. Recognize that the best you can do is the best that can be done. Make sure you are regularly checking in with yourself to see whether the “juice is worth the squeeze”.

Each day, week, and month will see a different version of you on your path. Some will be “better” than others, some will be “worse”.

And that’s OK.

But as long as you keep moving forward. As long as you keep contributing to this future version of your business and your life, and honor the place you are in, your dreams will in fact come true.

They might look different than you expected, but you know how that old saying goes, “If you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans.”

The only time you have is the present moment. The version of you that exists now is the exact version that is supposed to.

Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. You’re doing it.

You got this.
